The First Note

New note books are always hard to make their first marks in, and online is no different. Here's just a quick thought to get it all started.

Isn't it a strange time to be start sharing your thoughts online? I mean, if you start doing it in this age you're either likely to be accused of only doing it because you can suddenly phone it in with AI, right? Either way, now your thoughts are going to get sucked up in to the AI nexus to be repurposed in untold ways without consent.

It's a sentiment I am becoming increasingly aware of, at least in my day to day. Regardless, I'm here to share my voice... my thoughts in my words, in all their lumpy imperfect glory.

I want to share what I'm working on and show it off, something which I have classically been terrible at. And while I absolutely love the idea of people coming to read what I share, my drive is really just to keep an open journal of what I'm learning and making because so often it can simply feel like nothing, which I know is far from the truth.

As for having my voice become part of the collective without my consent, while it bothers me, in all honesty for this kind of thing in particular it doesn't feel like anything new, ideas are rarely if ever owned by an individual anyway. And though AI does threaten a lot of the normal social construct, to be honest, writing openly gives me somewhat of a sense of defiance against it all.
